You need to increase the hair count or make the hair thickness large.

If you want it realistic, increase the hair count density and lower the size.  Can you send up a screen capture of the shader in your shader room?

hair looks very good on shoulder.  but  hair length varies, e.g. very fine and short on proboscis,
but longer and clumpier on torso IMVHO.

Your so called "problem" looks like what I would be happy to attain!

Very effective.

Thank you Brian - clump in the shader gave it the clump look. Here is another attempt with little clump - The wolves have the wolf shader NOT lining up right and you'll see red from the mouth on the shoulder... but it kinda looks like blood : )

did you see that hair tutorial that Holly put out?  I will try to find the link, the hair map was interesting.

I found some of Holly's free props for various figures, but not a tutorial. Here is another attempt:

http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=75778  There are some discussions in there, the link to the pdf is in the first post.  She did a clumping goat as well.

Thank you Xerxes - Way to to Holly!  Also nice use of Comic Life.
I learned a lot.  I need to get better at the brush tool.

Okay, I can't help myself - I'm working on the caveman again to add to this mastodon scene... He needs a lot of work but I'm trying to keep him light on the polygons - Had fun with the furry wrap - now he needs a face and wild-untamed hair!  and a weapon, maybe a cave dog too.

Here is some progress... I have not messed with the UV's yet - I'd like to get a map going and paint on texture and displacement before I get too far in the rigging...

The fur wrap is built onto the caveman's body - part of the same model - will this be a problem when UV mapping?

The hair is a skull cap, also part of the figure
