its fun to try different things..but every time I do, I have to tweak until it will render again.

Not knocking Carrara--it applies to most apps--creating the perfect image in the 3D app is difficult and time consuming. You, often, can short circuit this by useing the features that are in the likes of Photoshop type aps.

Hope of some learning value anyway.

I'm just trying various un-altered Carrara images. Here's another one. I'm about to reach my limit with experimenting with this scene.

This example is only using the Shadow/Highlight adjustments in PShop.

I'm hitting too many bugs, mostly with the replicator.
Can someone confirm that if you have a surface replicator and duplicate it, that you can not change the material on the replicated object? I've tried a lot of different ways...from duplicating the replicator and then applying the objects, to duplicating--then promoting to master, to copy paste. All cause one error or another. And then...even if I do finally get it to do it, when I save the file, it goes back to the material before.
I dont have this problem with C6.
Im also finding that I cant move a duplicated replicator...or at least it doesnt show as moved in the preview.
and also the render preview frame doesnt show. I've tried a lot of different settings on my video card, and it just shows as a broken up frame, not a complete one.
still, its a great program. I think I'll move on to another subject to do test renders on now.
