I have been learning XSI but, to relax, I did this in MoI and textured in Carrara. MoI,3D Coat and Carrara make a good combination --untill (if ever) I master XSI!

I thought every one knew about MoI by now! Have a good look at the gallery and all the tutes also. Here is the Carrara render that I thought I had in the first post. Sorry Brian

How look the mesh now in Carrara? Just curious how you imported to Carrara the simple mesh from Moi.

Nice headgear. I'll have to check out MOI since it's cheaper than Rhino and I don't have a nurbs based modeler. XSI looks like a very cool app. Too bad they're discontinuing XSI foundation. The higher-end versions are a bit steep in price for me right now.

Several answers.
I generally export from MoI as .obj file (see image) though Carrara will accept the 3dm and iges very well also.

MoI is by the man who was a main player in the making of Rhino. MoI does not have the technical range but is superbly simple to use for the majority of work many off us may need to do.(What a pleasure to work with compared to Hexagon!)

Whilst I am hoping to master the complexity of XSI, Carrara6Pro, MoI and 3dCoat are, for me, an ideal combination.
