I want to make a plane (grid) and animate ripples to it. The I want to create a small area within this plane that is not effected by the ripples but by something else (antoher animated shader). Can this be done in C6Pro?

Thanks

I think you need to use two shade domains to get the result that you want.

Multi Channel Mixer

Each channel has its own animation

The trick is what blender to use for the two of them.

Or a Layers List.

Many ways in Carrara.

What is a Layers List?

I know... RTFM!

But... but you brought it up ;-)

In the Top Shader select Complex Shaders->Layers List. This will create a shader where you can layer on effects. There will be a base shader and underneath that is a plus button where you can add layers. The layers can have different shapes and you can further refine it with an Opacity Mask.
