I was just wodering about poor Canoma this morning.
A friend of mine has the need of such a tool.
Is the demo still available ? Is there a way to buy it or is there any similar product available.
And maybe a forum still alive.
And btw What in your opinion is the reason why Metacreation abandonned the project ?

Oh thanks. So Canoma seems to be dead, althought the website is still impressive (thanks for the link).
I'll turn to sketchup then. Google everywhere...

Good memories... but Canoma is dead after Metacreations sell it.
YOu can try those 2 alternatives that I find in Google:

Yes Canoma is kinda old. In fine Sketchup is a bit deceiving as far as I can see from the video demo image reconstruction is just mapping a picture as a texture on an existing (there lies the problem) 3D model.
I'll get to standford then and let you know.
Those university have the time and means to make dreams come true, and they share their knowledge. Let's cross fingers and give it a try.

Sure. I uploaded my picture already. Pictures are apparently batch processed because I'm waiting for the result for a rather long time now.

I attached a screenshot of the picture and the result. Not so bad considering the model was a flat one. I think this deserve a 2nd try with a more simple picture.

Carrara thumbs, huh ?
The problem is that I have 95% of the code to read them (which eovia kindly gave to me) but the code was incomplete and I absolutely don't know how to start.
I've got so many side projects with P3dO that I don't insist when things take too much time. So you know if you dearly want those thumbs ask me again and again and it'll be done.

I do, I would really like to support Carrara, as it would perfectly fit to Scene Manager.
There have been severall requests for Carrara thumbs on the Carrara SDK forum but up to now still the big hole.
Oh yes, Portuguese. Last translated for 1.8.4. There are holes there too ;)
