In past versions of Carrara, I was able to depress the option key on my Macintosh and grab any panel and the document window and move them over to a second monitor. This freed the main monitor to draw the sequencer tray up quite high for a longer animation, etc. In version 6 , I am able to drag panels and the tool bars, but the modeling window seems to be fixed. Since one cannot move the sequencer tray over to the other monitor, it makes using the document window and sequencer awkward to use. This really hampers my work flow and defeats the use of the second monitor. Is there a trick to releasing the document window and moving it over to the second monitor??

Hi DLDavis, Actually you can move the sequencer tray. But, I've only been able to do it BEFORE I create a scene. Mark

Ok Mark.. you need to tell me HOW!! I tried to move the tray prior to scene creation, but there is no sequencer, just the browser and it doesn't wanna move. I get a little hand image but it doesn't grab anything... After the blank scene is created, the sequencer appears, but nothing I do will move it. Can you please tell me your "secret"? David

Hey Mark. It is the Command key that releases the sequencer panel!! I was able to move it to the second monitor. It is no longer resizable, takes up about half of the screen's height. any more tricks up your sleeves? Thanks, David

Double check that it's resizeable. Mine is. If you're main monitor is larger than your second monitor, you'll want to reset the size in the larger monitor first before moving it.

right you are! I didn't notice the resize grabber in the lower right hand corner ... just where it's supposed to be. So now my second monitor is completely filled with the sequencer. I'll play show and tell when I've got something workin"!! Thanks again, David

This is a great thread!  Thanks -- I had no idea that you could pull the sequencer or other panels out of the main interface and put them on the second monitor!

Yay!  Can't wait to try this when I get home!

:D
