Hi, all -- I did a search and found nothing, so here's the question. Is C5P compatible with Leopard? I'm trying it on my new machine and getting all sorts of errors. I have version 5.1 on the machine. Please let me know if you know anything about this. Thanks! Dex

I haven't heard anything yet. Are you running the Univesal Binary version?

Dex,
There's one big issue with C5 and Leopard that pretty much makes it unusable if it hits you. None of the text works. Menus, labels, everything is blank.
I've gotten some temporary help by disabling Arial fonts in font manager, but then the problem reappears at the next reboot.

Hi guys
That font problem has popped up in a number of forums and Ariel seems to be the most common culprit, although the truetype helvetica has been mentioned too.
Eric, instead of using font manager to disable it, why not remove it from the system font library altogether so it never loads?

Jones,
Does removing the font work differently than disabling it? Everything is still disabled, still no menus. Tried the Helvetica and Font Book wouldn't let me disable it. I'll try deleting the fonts at the next opportunity, but that's not really a good solution either. Removing the most used sans seriff fonts...
I know C6 is out, but I think DAZ really ought to step up and fix this one, especially after just offering C5 free with the magazine.

I hope daz can be persuaded to provide a leopard patch for c5, or else detailed instructions on how to deal with the issue, given eric's work in regard to carrara over the years. yes, I'm aware that the avatar to the left of this message is not particularly conducive to being taken seriously, but I did them a favour this week (should be on record at their site under my username (Miss Nancy); accessible to their admins) and perhaps they can also take that into consideration.

Hi, all --
Thanks for the responses.... Oddly, the C5 problems I'm having on Leopard have nothing to do with fonts. The menus appeared just fine.
That said, I've gone ahead and installed C6P, and it's working well. But there's an odd issue that I'll raise in my next post.
See you there!
