Subject: Here's a funny little code bug

So I decided that I needed a quick wallpaper of a Lego Jedi Lightsaber.  I model it in about 5 minutes and then render.  I find a funny modeling result.

The blade is a simple spline object.  As you can see from the following posts, when I render with a surface fidelity of 300%, the result is fine.  If I render at 400 or higher, I get mesh messiness.

Weird.

That really is interesting. The higher fidelity mesh looks like a kid left a bite mark on the lightsaber!
