Hi,

Due to the offer at Daz I got Carrara 5 yesterday, I was playing with the program making simple things and applying textures etc, my question is, if I change a pre-defined material, will it permanently change that material, so if I reloaded it into a different scene it would use any new settings I applied?

The reason I ask is because carrara seems to be unique in I can't see any OK or confirmation boxes like with a lot of other apps. I dont want to change the materials that come with the program permanently.

Actually, the answer is "maybe". If you apply the texture in a scene and modify the texture from within the scene, the answer is no. However, if you open the texture with no scene open the answer is yes. Mark

Ah ok, thank you for the clarification, I am working through the manual and just playing with the program, but couldnt see anywhere about my particular question.
