I just started using Carrara 5, and have become fasinated with the particles.  I've googled for both particle and shader presets, and really can't find any decent info.

  Could someone please point me to some good Carrara resources, especially particle presets, so I can get some inspiration for my own work?

Have you already gone through and explored the presets that ship with Carrara 5. Everything you can do is really and extension of those basics. Here's a good one that uses Splats: http://forums.polyloop.net/carrara-tutorials/5046-c5-particles-flow-deflectors.html Mark
