Here is a Carrara render of a Carrara built figure with hair applied in Poser - and a poor attempt to add bones in Poser - see the cracks? The next image is the Poser render. What a difference! I want to render in Carrara for the final, but I want the shadows and thick hair look of Poser's render.

Here is the Poser image: Any suggestions for getting thicker fur in the Carrara? ( This is "hair" from Poser ) R

Hi, this link is to a great plugin, Anything Grows. The image that is used as it's icon shows it's strength in the area you are looking for.

I wish they would make something to simulate cloth too.

AgentSmith posted this in the D|S forum a little while ago. The title is a little misleading. I don't it's free.
I wouldn't see why they wouldn't integrate the same (or similar) system into some future version of Carrara.

the basic version is apparently free, but then that's how they getcha. free sample, then ya gotta pay for the full version. I don't object. those coders need to be paid for their work, just like everybody else. poser cloth room isn't free, either.

Maybe DAZ'll make it plug-in you can buy seperately. I'd like that best. If you need it, buy it; if you don't, don,t. And you might not have to wait for a new full release to get it.
Or, they could put the basic cloth in the standard and the full one in Pro.
Or just put the whole works in the app., nudge the price up a bit, and be done with it.

Okay, - the Anything grows looks good, but the fur in Poser - hair - is excellent! Maybe I just need to work on the AG fur more.

The Anything Grows just got easier for me. I had trouble with animation, but figured it out - has to do with o% at start and 100% at end... something like that. I still like the Poser render for fur - it has shine. This is a quick animation with hairs on a little green caterpillar.

I think you could can shade the fur any way you like, including subsurface scattering or translucency. But there is nothing against liking the Poser render of course :-)

Here is what I've come up with using Anything Grows and a bit of postrender in PS for the blood. The AG fur could use more work to get it to shine like the Poser Hair. I didn't want to combine the Carrara fish with a Poser render of the dinoseal... just because I wanted to make it harder on myself. But this is looking closer to what I want. I keep looking at the furry gecko on DCG's site, wow! Wish the artist who put that together would do a tutorial on it.

Nice work!  Like what you've done with the seal, the fur and the spine bones.  Pity the seal, doesn't look like he's having a good day!  Very good work.

A large part of Daz's business is selling content.  As I understand, the free plug-in lets you use dynamic content all you want, but to make new dynamic content requires the full version.  Makes enough sense to me, though of course I wish everything was free.

To be honest, the Carrara render looks a hundred times better.  The poser render looks like a plastic doll with brown brillo glued onto it.
