Poser Technical F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2026 Jan 16 6:16 pm)
Welcome to the Poser Technical Forum.
Where computer nerds can Pull out their slide rules and not get laughed at. Pocket protectors are not required. ;-)
This is the place you come to ask questions and share new ideas about using the internal file structure of Poser to push the program past it's normal limits.
New users are encouraged to read the FAQ sections here and on the Poser forum before asking questions.
Poser 6 and 7 will automatically create controlProp entries when loading a cr2 that doesn't have them.
Poser 5 doesn't understand the controlProp entries and just skips them.
So you can safely delete them, or leave them in place. It doesn't appear to matter.

In Poser 6 and 7, there are these items within the cr2 called "controlProp GoalCenterOfMass" and "controlProp CenterOfMass". I understand that this is used as an aid to achieve more balanced poses for the figure. But when making clothing for the figure, is it neccessary to have these entries in the clothing cr2? I have been deleting this entries when I make clothing, but I wonder if this is the correct thing to do.
