Subject: "Master" removes effects?

See if you can solve this one... I'm trying to create a master group that contains a bulb with a "light sphere" effect applied to it.  When I promote the group that contains the bulb to a "Master" the light sphere effect does not apply to the bulb anymore.

Basically what I've got is a marquee sign with tons of light bulbs on it.  I need all those bulbs to have a slight glow around them (light sphere) and I want to be able to control the amount, etc... via just one master.  I also tried using the Aura effect on my bulb object, but the effects were also disabled when I promoted to master.

Here is how I usually control that with Aura. Aura doesn't have to be per object effect. It can be a scene effect. Engaging it at a scene level provides for two controls of the effect: 1) the Aura filter, and 2) a master shader with a value in the glow channel. If you'd like to use the light sphere, then you do need use a per object basis. :-/

oooh... good call, Mark!  That will help me control the "glow" of my lightbulbs perfectly.  And, the Glare filter works even better to get the look I am after.

Thanks!
