Ello,

Firstly, forgive me if this issue has been discussed before, but searching through this forum is a nightmare lol

I'm using P6 and it's been working fine for a while, but suddenly it's started crashing back to my desktop. No warning.. just 'poof!' and off it goes. There doesn't seem to be any regular cause for this. I've tried re-installing Poser, re-installing Winblows, updating with the service pack, running virus scans, uninstalling all additional content, swearing at the pc and sulking in the living room. None of which made any difference. Except the last one, which just pissed everyone else off too.

I thought I had it sorted after the service update, cos it settled for a while, but now it's up to it's old tricks again.. Mostly this happens then I attempt to select a new texture when fiddling around with the material settings, but not always.

Any suggestions..?

Defective RAM? Overclocked? Graphic Card problem?

DarkStarBurning posted Sun, 28 January 2007 at 9:17 AM

Graphic card seems to be fine, I've never overclocked ( my pc is my baby and I don't like to push it lol ), and as for defective RAM...hmmm.. possibly.

Having said that, my Poser's been running fine since I posted this ( Sod's Law )... it still doesn't like the 'select' though.

Try to use Poser without OpenGL. Or try to use an other OLG-driver (newer/older).
If your graphics card uses memory from your PC switch this "feature" off if possible.

Hmmm.. ok. Not sure why it used to work just fine ( and has been ok this afternoon ), but then stops and starts.

BTW adp.. visited your homepage. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else fave artist themselves before lol

Update your video drivers. If that doesn't work, contact Tech Support.

Hi Teyon.

Drivers updated and still no joy. I gave up in the end and just installed Poser 7. Here's hoping it doesn't give me half the trouble it seems to be giving other folks.....

Try disabling hardware shading (Render settings, Preview tab).
