So whats the real skinny on Carrara and these "new" processors.  Doe's it really help in render times to have multi-multi?  The new quads came out on the 3rd and Im wondering if C will use them like Bryce will.

I know it will use multi processor..but what about multi core multi processor?

Well it uses multi processor and it uses multi core, so I presume it will just see one of the new quads as 4 processors

Try the lavalamp sample scene from the FX set - it took about twelve hours for another user withan E6600 Core 2 Duo, and looked to be heading that way for me too (but I didn't let it finish - AA was set to good I think)). See how that compares with your current system.

I have currently a dual G4 and a MacBook sporting between them 4 processors. I do get all 4 rendering and the amazing thing is that the MacBook is almost as fast as the G4 even thou it is moving the data through my Airport network. Pretty cool stuff. I don't have access to ether a Quad G5 or one of those MacPro desktops to test Carrara in. But I am sure you would get all four cores showing up.
