Does anyone have some information on nodelocking re: Vue 6I? Or a link to such information?
I did some searching around on e-on's website last night -- in an attempt to find out exactly what the implications of "nodelocking" are. I didn't have a lot of time to spend on the search. All that I found was an unsatisfactory thread in the Infinite user's forum.
I am considering upgrading my PC sometime in the relatively near future. But I'd like to be certain that a purchase of "nodelocked" V6I today won't mean that I can't transfer the program over to a new PC in another month or two. Or that I will have difficulties doing so.
Someone in the thread over at e-on said "don't worry about it" -- but I'd like a little more information than that. As an aside -- I've always found that whenever someone tells me "not to worry" about something........that's the very point in time when I need to start worrying............

Nodelocked means you can only use the program on one computer. If you upgrade (which I did recently) you can install Vue to the computer again and you'll be okay.

So if I am interpreting you correctly -- the installation of nodelocked Vue 6I on a new PC will simply have the effect of disabling it on the old PC.

You'll have to uninstall it from the old computer first but then you'll be okay.

Ahhhh.....that's good to know. I assume that the program "calls home to mama" during the uninstallation process, as well as during the installation process.

I am just downloading Vue6 Belle1947, do you think I should wait a week until my new puter arrives or is it a relatively quick and simple process to change across to the new puter? Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

It's really simple - go ahead and install it on the old computer and when the new one arrives, uninstall it and install on the new one. The only thing it's going to ask for is the serial number. Just be sure you save your installer out on CD or DVD and verify the file when it's written to disc to be certain it's not corrupted.

Sorry- didn't see your thread...I'm asking a similiar question- but would like to know if the "pre-release" version will be treated like a "sample" and the FINAL RELEASE version, (after you have already paid for it) come under a NEW OFFICIAL LICENSE that requires a different security scheme...
That's why I'm not Buying it right now until this has been cleared up...
