Is there a way to simulate or fake chromatic (or achromatic) aberration? An example of this would be a man in a black suit standing in front of a white light. Red or blue outlines appear at the edges of objects, most notably in high-contrast areas of an image, when the lightwaves are split up.

Also, I know Maxwell Render is supposed to replicate the exact properties of light. Would this effect automatically show up in anything produced with it?

Hi TerraMatrix, Yes you can do it but you'll need a plug-in like DCG's ShaderOps. For this image I used a feature called Fake Fresnel as a mixer in the color channel and glow channel. You can also get similar effect using Shoestring Shader's Easy Fresnel also. Mark
