yep carrara can do tons, the renderer and materials can do anything
especially when plugins get made
although lacking on the side of simulations, such as dynamic hair/cloth/fluids
i'm accually using maya for that, and import into carrara, as i like the mats/renderer more

Very inspiring work! I had checked out his website fairly recently(found it with a google search) but it looks like he's expanded his site quite a bit for which I am very glad. Here are a lot of outstanding examples of what our "little" proggie can do in the hands of an inspired artist having tons of fun!
