Subject: Is it me, or Veloute'?

I just ordered Veloute' in hopes it would allow me to make a long awaited fishing net, but found problems in the texture room. I loaded a sphere for starters, added under the color choice a veloute' grid - basic. I chose the third from left, a basic "xxxxx" like diamond shape, and went to add more v and h lines, ( also hope to make the lines thinner ), and my mac (Carrara5pro 5.0.3) locked up and I couldn't get out of the texture room. Anyone else run into this? I emailed inagoni already. They sure are helpful over there. r

Adding this, I just dropped a cube in shaped long and thin like a set net / drift net. I added a veloute' texture - basic grid, upped the v and h count, and went back to main room. It rendered okay, but when I went to edit the texture, it locked up again. Seems like I can make only initial adjustments, then trying for round two botches it up. R

Well, I have a PC and have used veloute for some things with no problems...not on 5.03 yet. I will check. I have a mysterious primivol issue that is yet unresolved, but from what I have been able to pinpoint is at least in part seems related to a multi threading issue.

My issue is becoming more clear. The lockup occurs when I go back into the shader and try and make changes once I've applied a Veloute' grid to an object. I can set it up and then change rooms, render, but not go back for more changes. For anyone using Anything Goos... is it stable? I want to pick up the new package - Goos, Toon Pro, etc. but with problems ( and maybe they are problems with my system.. I don't know yet ) I am afraid to pay out for buggy plugins. Architools and Anything Grows are plugins from inagoni and dcg, both work great! Robert

No problems for me. A different programmer actually does the mac versions I believe. Just for kicks disable multi-threading in the render room (if it's checked) and see if it makes a difference.Might want to play with the other rendering options, as well.

Hello Robert, I can confirm a hard crash after multple adjustments when using Veloute by itself in the color channel. Mark

Yep, Ren_mem. Primivol hates my dual processor G4. Have to turn it off (C4). I've yet to try in C5....

I hope to use Veloute'. I've already emailed inagoni with the issue, but no response yet. Hope they are looking into it. If any of you who use Veloute' whould also email, it might expidite the fix.

Well, I have a pc, but please send that primivol to him. I cannot use my own 3d shaders. I have talked to him several times and he couldn't reproduce so I finally tracked it to that., and sent it, but still no word. I haven't seen this in veloute for me, but I will keep an eye out.
