I am trying to put some Poser figures in a Carrara 5 generated landscape, but the landscape is so small compared to the Poser figure. When I scale the poser figure by 10 then I still have a fandscape that is far too small compared to the Poser figure. So I must render the scene without showing the landscape bottom under the Poser character. I tried to reduce the landscape size by 1 km x1 km, but still that does not seem to solve the problem. A second problem I get when I render with a scaled Poser figure is that my camera controls are too big to position by hand. So how is this beeing solved?

As a part solution to your first problem, you might bring your Poser figure close to the front of your scene then make your Camera to a Wide Angle to help your scene visualisation.
I don't really follow the problem about the Render and Camera moving relationships?

Well if I scale down my poser figure, then it gets more realisticaly in size compared to my terrain, but when I want to position the camera so close near the scaled down poser figure then it is hard to put the camera in teh correct place. Doing the reverse scaling up the scene gives me other headaches like moving the scene down. and finding the terrain. It would be nice if I choose a terrain size of 1km by 1 km then it generates a terrain that is that size. but so far tests suggest that a 30kmx30km is the same size as the 1kmx1km. (I am a carrara newbie)

A tip when resizing a terrain. To keep it at the right height after resizing, set the "z" position at exactly half of the "z" size. In other words, if the new terrain is 500 in. tall, set the vertical position at 250 in. Also, in the terrain dialogue box you have "re-scale terrain to working box" checked. If you uncheck this, then the terrain will be set to the actual size. Be careful, actual size can get quite large, really fast. Terrains are generated with algorithms, so when you set the terrain to a larger size, the scale of the features change to accomodate it.

Thanks I will look into this.:-)

Might want to try using point at modifier w/ camera also.

No need to think outside the box....

Hmm still having problems. I believe that I am doing something wrong, I am used to Mojoworld where you have an infinit huge planet, and you can go down to the surface. Somehow I am trying to create a surface of 500m by 500 m, and put a Poser character of maximum 2 m on the surface and still get the resolution of the terrain correct (Mojoword uses a formula to generate the terrain) But maybe I am doing it the way Carrara is never designed to be used like. Maybe I should create a big background scene, render it, then make a second scene with the poser characters and a smaller terrain an put the rendered big terrain at the sky dome?
