I've got some old models that were produced in C4 Pro. They won't open in Pro 5 ( I/O error) as well as back in Pro 4 (I/O error). Both versions are loaded on same computer. ( if that is partofthe problem) I'm in a load of hurt if I can't open these files. They represent hours of blood, sweat, and tears!! If anyone has a solution I would be very much obliged! Thanks.

I've run into this a couple of times when I didn't have a plug-in used in the C4 scene installed with C5.

Eric, Thanks..are you saying that everyone who migrates from Carrara 4 Pro to Pro 5 needs a special plugin to open Pro 4 files in 5? I done a lot of upgrading in my life, never had to do this!

No special plug-in just that if your scene used for example Anything Grooves in C4, you need to have Anything Grooves installed in C5 too for the file to open correctly.

I had Architools loaded in 4. Do I have to load it into C5 as well?

Eric. Thanks for your help!!!! I reinstalled the plugins in Carrara 4 Pro and the old files open. I had a crash several months ago and forgot to reinstall the plugins along with the main app. Did not know I had to put them back. I'll have to check with inagoni for Pro 5 updates. Merry Xmas!

Yeah, there is a link on the inagoni site for c5 plugins.
