I've been playing with water all today & haven't come close to anything that looks good.

There was another pic I saw but can't find it now for a reference, it was terrains with a river that looked superb.

Waves OK..but the actual water is well, less than appealing to say the least.

For a start, download the Rosenberg? Terrain/Landscape tutorial from the Eovia home site. Other water involving tutes are also at that site. Look/download all the tutes you can access from there. Will keep you busy for a month or three!!!(The landscape tute I first mentioned is about the best tute I have ever read.)
