Hi all im working on a poser/carrara version of someof my favorite scenes from the Sci fi classic ***"bladerunner"*** here are some early animation tests rendered in Carrarapro4 the "deckhard character is being played by my digital self clone made with DAZ MIke2. "Captain Bryant" is also based on Mike2 I really love the batch render option in CP4justpatrick posted Thu, 10 November 2005 at 6:20 AM
This looks cool, wolf359! Is it just me, or is there a little too much motion blur on the video? There seems to be a lot of blurriness when their eyes blink or their lips move. It might just be my computer. Love the look of the characters. Thanks for showing this. Do you have any more finished animations? I'd love to see them! Can human characters like this be made to animate directly in carrara, or does one need Poser for animating the human stuff? I've seen some carrara animations, but most of them were cartoony figures. The only realistic ones I seen were imported from Poser. I have Poser, but struggle to animate with it.

Fun stuff!
Justpatrick, with Carrara 5, you'll now be able to animate directly in Carrara using the Bone rigs from Poser. Realism is a tough thing to do with 3D people - for anybody with any software.
Motion capture has made believeable movement a reality (BTW, you can import motion files directly into Carrara and attach them to your character - many free ones on the web now) There is a reason the Matrix movie series took so long to make and employed so many people. ;) But it's getting easier and easier.

Thanks, MarkBremmer! Yes, I know it's hard. I've been trying to learn character animation in Poser, but I have a hard time with making changes to BVH there, and other things. I purchased Carrrara, and can't wait to start using it. I just saw a well done movie clip in the 3dsmax forum, and it's along the lines of what I want to do in 3d some day. There's no way I can afford something like 3ds or Maya. Even Lightwave is out of my price range, so I'm hoping Carrara is the next best thing! :)

Real nice. I did see some lip and eye issues. At one point the blonde guy is talking and no lips moving at all. Yeah bvhfiles.com has alot of stuff free... little demo viewer too. Daz Studio doesn't currently support these formats, but you can save animation cycles for reuse and w/ c5 new supports I was hoping that would be another option for reusable movements. That is the one big issue is reusability.
