I've never purchased from Eovia and hoped you guys can help.

C4Pro is currently $549 with the free upgrade to C5Pro but I was thinking of just waiting for the C5Pro release. Do you know if it'll cost me more if I wait? What does Eovia normaly do with pricing when they release new versions?

If you have a High Speed internet connection, there shouldn't be any additional charges since you can download V5. If you want a CD instead, they'll probably add shipping as the only cost. Since there is no diffference in program cost at this point, I'd say get it now. But then again, I have a sickness for 3D. ;-)

Are you saying V5 is available now by download if I buy the download version of V4? I thought you have to fill out a form and send it in and wait for a December release date or some such.

Nope. You can download the beta if you purchase now. When the final release is ready you will be sent another e-mail with instructions on how to download the final. Even if you opt for the CD I think you can download the Beta once you make your purchase. EDIT: I am not sure if you get 4 now that you can download the beta, I would think so, since you are entitled to the free upgrade. But if you purchase 5 now, it is instantly available.

The way I read it, only the earlier owners of Carrara are entitled to buy the Carrara 5 with access to the Beta version. New buyers, Via C4, appear to have to wait until December! But I may be wrong.

bwtr you are correct - I have bought C4Pro and ordered the carrara 5 free upgrade, and I don't have access to the C5 beta. Love esther

I just bought Pro 4 but really want Trensposer 2. Should I wait for the up grade? Dale

The C5 Pro upgrade will have it so yeah unless you have an immediate need. Remember purplus has c3 for a good price. Then you could upgrade to C5 direct. Unless you want C4 or amapi. Those prices were officially announced so I don't see it going up.

One thing I'm wondering with regards to the beta: I would have just purchased C5(pro) rather than doing the whole buy C4(Pro)->fill in form and get free C5(Pro), but there is currently no way to preorder C5 itself. Kind of strange, but I wish someone from Eovia would explain exactly how/why it works.

My only thought is that they may be thinking that only previous users would want a beta or would be good for a beta(knowing the program).

Pre-orders are for existing Carrara customers. Getting a Beta version doesn't mean you're a Beta tester, though. It's to get your fix until the real deal arrives.
