Hi folks,

I just posted an update to Wireframe Pro that fixes a few bugs and introduces a couple of new features to the renderer. Below is a list of changes.

  1. Faster starts for rendering and shading of high polygon count vertex objects.
  2. Fixed a problem where oversampling was working at a level one less than the UI indicated and None was not working at all.
  3. Added a new mode to the Wireframe Pro renderer that does not overlay on top of the normal render. It will default to a white background, but it will also pull color from the Background or Backdrop if set.
  4. Added a new option to the Wireframe Pro renderer to use the shading approximation as the line color (i.e. same color you see in the 3DView when not in the textured mode).
  5. Fixed a problem in the Wireframe Pro shader when shading objects with convex polygons.

You can grab the update or download and try out Wireframe Pro from the links below.

Wireframe Pro is a wireframe render and shader for Carrara. The render, based on the same technology that powers Toon! Pro provides high quality wireframe rendering that can be combined with traditional ray tracing or even GI rendering. The Wireframe Pro shader works within Carrara's Texture room as a powerful tool for building your own wireframe shaders. Both tools can pull just the edges you define from the Vertex Modeler and Smart Quads can emulate the quads look for objects that aren't built on quads.

Eric, Thanks for the update! Am I reading it correctly that the wireframe color will take on the approximate shader color? Would it be possible to make that an option in Toon Pro with a slider to adjust darkness when Toon Pro draws its lines? -S

Scott,

You did read it correctly and that certainly would be possible in Toon! Pro. I'll look at adding that for its next update.
