I don't know if this product by dburdick is going to be sold here in the Rendo marketplace. But I'm planning to buy it wherever it's sold.

Now this is what V5I has needed. Badly.

Skin tones are the one area where Vue has always stumbled for me. Perhaps a tool like this will make it a snap to fix the problem.

Thanks for pointing me to your test renders, gillbrooks. That's good to see.

SkinVue is definitely on the wishlist for my next round of 3D purchases. I've already purchased both Wardrobe Wizard and Tailor 1.6 for Poser this past week. So I'll wait until next month to buy SkinVue & to start trying it out.

This looks like a great add-on for V5I. If I had a complaint concerning V5I, the program's relatively poor handling of skintones was it. Landscapes? Sure, beautiful. But add people to the scene, and I'd call the results of closeups "OK". But not the best. This looks to be an answer for that.

Can this be used with vue 5 espirit? Doesn't seem so.

No need to think outside the box....

No, according to the readme it's for Infinite only

Yes, The SkinVue product on 3DCommune is the one I created. I was originally going to offer it on e-on's cornucopia but as you know the store opening was delayed. E-on should be offering brokered products in the next few months -- at that time -- SkinVue will also be available on Cornucopia as well. The product has not been tested for Vue5 esprit but I don't think it will work because SkinVue requires several advanced funtions only found in Vue 5 Infinite. Here's a link to the SkinVue website if you want more info:

Nice, but much too much work for me to use. All those manual adjustments for every figure - and having to close down and start Vue each time ... I realise this is due to problems within Vue, not because of poor design of SkinVue, but it makes it out of the question that I should use this on a routine basis.

Skin Vue is amazing. I could never get skin to render properly in Vue. First of all I could not figure out how to light it properly. skinVue also comes with pre set environments that have amazing lighting setups. I think it is a great product. Here is an image I rendered with it and some links to my gallery images using SkinVue http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1031412&Start=16&Artist=lululee&ByArtist=Yes

Looks great to me. And I don't have a need to produce large numbers of renders in a short period of time - so a little extra effort spent making adjustments in Vue shouldn't normally be a huge problem for me.

They look nice, but unfortunately not as good as the results from Poser6's real skin shader.

lululee ( ) posted Thu, 20 October 2005 at 10:06 AM

One of the benefits of the Vue Skin shader is Vue will let you render a much larger and higher quality image for print or canvas. Poser6 has size limitations. If you want renders with realistic skin you can use SkinShader and render to a much larger resolution for print or canvas. cheerio lululee

Agreed. I have both SkinVue and the Real Skin Shaders and I will continue to use both. It depends on what tool I expect to use for the job. I've been living in Vue of late, but I do go back to Poser for certain things. I wouldn't say that either solution removes the need for the other, especially since they are totally bound to their specific programs.
