It's sort of an underground Elven city (perhaps Drow). What do you guys think?

pakled ( ) posted Wed, 03 August 2005 at 4:42 PM

looks like something from Roger Dean (if you're still in school, it's probably before your time..;) but it's quite the compliment..

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

I agree with pakled, Nice work.

Cool work (compliment eludes 15-year-old MoonGoat) but this is just a backgroud right? It'd be awesome with a mysterious object in the middle to grab focus.

Roger Dean did the album covers for the band 'YES' and others. Hellova compliment. I think merefolk would go well here.........

Thanks, everyone. =) pakled, you're right, I had no idea who Roger Dean was until Bryster pointed it out. Thanks! =D MoonGoat-- Hmm, good idea. Unfortunately, this took nearly 14hrs to render, so anything added is going to be spliced in in Paint Shop Pro. Bryster-- Actually, you see the bright spot on the rocks to the left? Looks just like a trail to me. I was going to put some people walking up there, with maybe a wizard staff and a bright light. Not sure what happened; guess it just slipped my mind. =( Maybe I'll add them in postwork.

Is it only me that thinks it looks like an underwater-image? The structures also have a bit of a seashell-look.

Good spelling is overaytead

yup small schools of fish seaweed and a little sub here and there ,could very well be an underwater scene.

"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.

Hmm... =)

Yeah I thought this was underwater too=) Nice work there Robert! Hey, I thought you already went back to school, Hmm;)

I never intended to make art.

shinyary2 ( ) posted Thu, 04 August 2005 at 7:14 AM

I have approximately five days before leaving, and then two weeks or so until school actually starts. So, I have a bit more time than I had originally thought. =)

Cool! I was starting to miss you already bro:)

Great job. It also looks underwater to me. Change the blue to brownish red and it would look underground.

UVDan-- That was actually the way I had it originally. Then I saw blue and it just looked more mystical and elvish. Red looks more dwarvish to me. Of course, elves wouldn't be underground in the first place, which makes it Drow. Underwater is fine with me, though. Actually I think it looks better that way. =P

Underwater gives you a good excuse to make some fantasy submarines.

lol very true. =) I might actually need them for my next one anyway, so maybe I'll rerender this one (urrgg... 14hr render... maybe not lol).
