Thanks for making WireFrame Pro. It helps out a lot in showing others the wires on rendered models I'm working on.

Nice work. I'd love to post it in the Anything Goos and Wireframe Pro galleries when you're finished.

I can see a lot of uses for that.

Goo is my absolute favorite plug-in. It makes aging models soooooo easy.

Looking great! Smoke and exhaust will discolor- leave carbon on parts. You can add random dings to it - misc. damage? Nice model. What is it?

Never Give Up!

It's just the nose end of a submarine so far. Here's more rust. Modeled in Hexagon.

Looking great! The rust is right on. Very nice model. You're liking Hexagon?

Very much so. It's a quick and easy modeler to use.

I notice that when I use a modifier on it (like waving and such) the edge angles change slightly and Anything Goos calculates different values and the rust changes on the model. Would this be a situation where baking a model's texture to a map first before animating it will keep the rust static?

Shonner,

Yes this would be a good application of Baker.

Just curious. It was fun bending/warping it up just to see what would happen to the polys. I scraped off some of the rust to show metal underneath. Since I don't plan on morphing this model, I'll just let AGoos do its thing and not use texture maps at all.

You added some supports to the side. Looks better, stronger, and adds more surface to rust and scrape. Looking forward to seeing it added to the rest of the sub. Now I want to try out Anything Goos!

Is it possible to crease some edges at a certain angle and other edges at a different angle on the same object?

ShawnDriscoll posted Fri, 26 August 2005 at 4:45 AM

I used the same paint job on one of my drone's feet.

ewinemiller posted Fri, 26 August 2005 at 4:54 AM

Shonner,

Yes you could do different angles on the same object by using shading domains or other types of mixers. For example use an elevation mixer so that you have different angles on top than on bottom. If you need a sample, please just let me know.
