Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to arch text in Carrara. For example, Photoshop has the feature where you can use different effects for the type tool. Is there a way to do the same thing in Carrara? MPAL76

You can use all deformers there are for the regular, eh, deformations. Bend and twist would be the logical choice in this case. You can choose them in the Deformation tab on the right in the Assembly Room. Good luck!

Thank you. I have tried the bend and twist (maybe I'm not doing it right) but, I can't get it to do what I'm thinking. MPAL76 PS I'm including a jpeg of what I'm trying to accomplish. (It's done in Photoshop)

Oops, you are right. :*/ It just pushes the text flat if you do it straight. But there is the secret Group Trick. When you select the text and group it (with nothing but itself), now bending along the Y axis will really bend the text. Good luck!

Wow! I've been racking my brain trying to do this! Thank you so much! I love this site. MPAL76

Ok. I tried bending it along the Y axis with no success. I tried bending it along the X axis and it worked (with the "bend axis" angle at 90 degrees). It bends the text by taking the left portion of the text and bending it downward. Is there a way to bend it in the middle? Sure, I can manipulate it (I'm not being lazy by the way) but, I'm thinking there is an easier way. MPAL76

If you now rotate the whole 45degrees to the right it will look kind of like that, I think. I tried it with my head tilted and it worked, sort of :-)

Cool! Thanks. Also, I was fiddling around with it and I found that there were "handles" that allow you to arch the text in each view. Very cool! Thanks again for the help. MPAL76
