Hi, New guy question. What are some advantages of using Illustrator instead of using Carrara's Spline Modeler? MPAL76 PS Thank you Mark Bremmer, SFDX, and BWTR for teaching me how to import Illustrator paths into Carrara.

You can use Illustrator paths with the Spline modeler. They work together.

Hi Mpal76, Using both is what I do. However, for precise shapes (envelopes and cross sections of actual products) or complex shapes that use the line filters like zig-zag, I use Illustrator. It's simply better suited to create those shapes quickly and perfectly. Mark

Thanks. I was reading this article on how to make Illustrator do the work for you when drawing lines that resemble sketching. It was very interesting. Thanks for your answers. MPAL76
