How can I get the production frame back to normal. I get it out of wack and I have a hard time getting it back to normal.

Make sure that "Keep Proportions" in the Render Room is unchecked. Then, in the Assembly room, put your cursor over one of the corners of the production frame and drag to resize. If you cannot see the corners of the frame then zoom the window out with "Z-Alt"(PC) and make the frame smaller, then Zoom back to 100%. Keep the imaged centered while zooming or your camera perspective may get messed up. HTH

The real cheater way is to copy the position numbers of your camera, create a new camera and delete the old one and then position the new one with the numbers. (you'll need to designate your new camera as the Render Camera in the Render Room, too)

Well, you don't have to worry about keeping the view centered, as you can use the View->Reset 2d Pan function to get it back to normal... The production frame, you can change that in the render options where you set the resolution, just set the resolution properly (680x480 (1.333333333333...) is the default value), in the View->Set Production Frame dialog set it to 90%...
