Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jul 18 2:08 pm)
Yes, it could be a problem if they don't have the same materiaqls. I would suggest also saving a version of it that uses the materials that come with Poser and put that up for download instead,

acctually wouldn't that depend on what materials he's talking about. if they are all procedural shaders (sorry about the spelling) shouldn't they work (as long as no image maps are used) after all the node information should be saved with the prop after it's added to the library, or am I wrong in thinking this?
If the materials are strictly procedural (no image maps, as you say), then, yes, all of the shader node information is stored in the material sections of the prop. And these should work on any P5/P6 (if using P5 nodes - P6 has added several new ones).
C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the
foot. C++ makes it harder, but when you do, you blow your whole leg
off.

You'll also need to check the license on the materials to see if you're allowed to redistribute them like that. If they're from my free shader pack then you are, but I don't know what the licensing conditions are for the other shaders around.

I have a question: I intend to model a prop in Wings3D, then import it in Poser, assign to it some nice free materials I downloaded some time ago and save it in the Props library. If I, then, choose to put the prop in the Rosity freebie area, would anyone that will download it have problems using it if they don't have the same materials I used? Thanks and excuse me for the bad English... :P
