Hi folks,
I just finished posting an update to Shader Ops and the new shader is a freebie! The serial number dialog will come up and the rest of the Shader Ops will be in evaluation mode if you don't enter a serial number, but the new shader, Programmable Scale, will work even in evaluation mode.
Programmable Scale gives you two sub shaders, Source and Scale. The first should be slotted with a 3D shader like Cellular, the Noise shaders, or Veloute's 3D random map. The second will scale the first one, darker is smaller, lighter is larger. It also makes a great perturbation shader, just drop two different noise shaders in each of the sub channels.

I was just reading that article. I really liked the different colored organisms. It did look like a multi stained slide in a microscope. Great work Mike! I think I might have to buy your book after all.
