Got the box this evening, installed it.
So far, I am very pleased with the results.
OpenGL seems to work perfectly.
No question -- V5I has higher system requirements than Vue4Pro. However, V5I is a "smarter" program when it comes to the allocation of system resources. Rather than just crash, V5I will warn you about low memory, etc....and will then automatically attempt to compensate for the problem.
I loaded in one of my Vue4Pro scenes, and rendered the scene "as is", without making any changes to the lighting, etc. from Vue4Pro.
No question about it at all......the scene looks much better when it's been rendered in V5I over Vue4Pro. Especially noticable are the differences to things like skin textures on Poser characters. Wow. What a difference over Vue4Pro's defaults. And the overall level of detail in the render is noticeably improved.
Remember -- this is without changing anything from the Vue4Pro settings to the scene......
Wonderful. I am one happy camper.
If I can come up with something worthwhile, I might post it to the gallery in the future.
It'll help to have some time to get the hang of it all.
But if anyone out there has been debating getting V5I.....if needed, I would suggest taking out a second mortgage, and buying the program.
This is a snap evaluation -- based upon my extensive 30 minutes of experience with a freshly installed/registered program.
