Sorry about the snafu from MustBeLuvv, I didn't realize my sister was logged in to rendo... SO... ok, I'm hoping someone can give me the answer because I am at a loss. When setting the render options for Vue4Pro, I usually choose the "Render to Disk" option, so that I can set the image for a higher resolution than 72dpi -- usually it's 300. My problem, though, is that no matter what I do, the thing always ends up saving it at 72dpi. I've triple checked before commencing a render to make SURE it wasn't something I left out, but no, sure enough, the dpi was always always set to 300. Yet when I open Photoshop and check the Image Size, it tells me 72. Am I missing something? Please help!! :) Thanks so much, and it's nice to finally post in the Vue forum -- I love this program. :)

Hmmmmmmmm I thinks it's a PS foible. I just quickly rendered in Vue at 100dpi then opened it in PS and it said 72. Opened the same image in PSP and it told me the correct dpi of 100. Now I'M confused too LOL!

Seriously!!!.... Well I'll save it as a TIFF or something instead next time, and open it in Painter and see if that's different. THanks, Gill!!! It's nice to know because I was so freaked out.

Ok, the good news is that dpi does not count really. It is the absolute amount number of pixels one renders. Wether they are spread onto more or less inches (dpi=dots per inch) does not matter because it can easily be changed without any quality change in a program like Photoshop. And when i need images with higher dpi settings i have to open it in Photoshop (for example to change the color mode to CMYK) anyway so no big deal really. As long as you render it to the right pixel size therefore be happy and accept the little glitch that a number is not transfered correctly to the paint program you use. Oh, there is a long list of threads about dpi here. You can find it all in the backroom.
