Importing these files into C4Pro provides very unsatisfactory results---well below expectations. Am I missing something? Any more information available other than the manual?

Well the source file is what is giving you unsatisfactory results. FBX works great in my experience. Do you have MotionBuilder? COB and LWO files I've downloaded from the web, about 8 out of 10 have been crappy, but that was due to the source file not being that good. Many free models on the web are not the best. Perhaps if you could be more specific as to what problems you are having we could help you. Brian

The problem of crappy files to download appears the answer I guess. Say 9 out of 10! Why MotionBuilder please Brian? I have Poser5 and have just looked up the price of MotionBuilder!!!!!!!

Free models on the web are never optimized or cleaned up or properly textured. Then there is the problem of Carrara Pro 4 not being compatible with the version of COB or LWO you are trying to import.

I know it's a dream, but does anyone know if/how you could import an Animation Master character and animation file in C4. Be nice if there was a Trans-Animation Master.

i think animation master files always making probs when importing into another software,i know that there is a obj exporter for animation master but it doesnt works right,im not sure about that cause i dont have and use A:M. fbx works good for me when i use the lightwave fbx plugin together with c4p.i also had some weird stuff when i downloaded some lightwave files for testing in c4p but i had no probs with my own lw models.
