Do you need to create the same model in Carrara with decal? It's a very simple thing... With the vertex modeler and UV editor. Do you need to know something else? I'm here:-) -TOXE

Carrara 3 doesn't have weighting as far as I know. So sharp edges are difficult to achieve when smoothing polygon objects. www.shonner.com

You can crease edges in the vertex modeler to get them sharp. Patrick Tuten

Yes, Patrick, but you can have a very detailed model with a large number of point to use crease edges correctly. For me, it's better to create it with a few polygons (only the necessary) and add a very little thickenss on the border. BTW, sslide 24, you're still interested? Where are you?:-) -TOXE

TOXE, you are right (but you knew that, didn't you?). I almost model everything in Amapi D7, but sometimes I will crease some edges in Carrara afterword. As with any modeling, using Amapi or Carrara or both, there is usually more than one approach. Anyway, as far as the original question is concerned, this shape is very possible in Carrara 3 - even easy really. Patrick Tuten
