I've been on Eovia's web site for fifteen minutes and can't figure how to pre order C4! I can get to the preorder page that describes the pre order but can't figure out how to actually start the order process. What am I missing? Thanks in advance...

Thanks, I should have worked that out myself: I use Mozilla and should have expected I was missing something. I usually get a hint though :-( I'll steel myself and use IE! Can't be left behind in the rendering race!

I use Firefox (which is the latest offering from the Mozilla stable) and had no trouble seeing the necessary buttons... didn't press any though. ;-)

Thats odd, I'm using Firefox 0.8. I'll check for another version.

Mine's 0.9.2
sailor_ed posted Wed, 22 September 2004 at 11:32 AM
I just downloaded and installed 1.0 and still no buttons. Are you on Windows or Mac?
falconperigot posted Wed, 22 September 2004 at 12:20 PM
Windows 98.

Ah, think I've solved your problem. In Tools>Options>General uncheck "Load Images for the originating website only". If you look at Tools>Page Info>Links & Media you'll see that the buttons are actually generated from http://a124.e.akamai.net but link to esd.element5.com, the outfit that handles Eovia's transactions. Brilliant! How did you work that out? I haven't tried it yet but I'm pretty sure I checked that on installation. That's got to be it!
sailor_ed posted Wed, 22 September 2004 at 2:31 PM
Yes it worked fine.. I have buttons. Now I have to pry apart my wallet.... Thanks Mark and Mark:-)
falconperigot posted Wed, 22 September 2004 at 2:38 PM
Glad it works for you now! Is that your wallet I hear screaming 'No! No!'? (I have to hide my plastic so I don't find it ;-) ) As to how, I just thought it must be your settings so hunted around. The Page Info gave me the pointers. Firefox is a brilliant browser for anyone that's keen to try something other than IE. More secure, tabbed browsing and no pop-ups, if you don't want them. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ Mark II :-)

I'll stick with Safari for now on (but that's Mac-only), but I keep Firefox ready for every flimsy issue.

I exclusively use Safari and I am pleased. Every now and then I have to use I.E. put I hate everything Microsoft. Tray to keep my Mac as MS free as possible.
