Hi. The very first instruction in a 25 page face modeling tutorial in de la Flors book starts out: "Insert a cube primitive into the working box, and using the Minus (-) key, reduce the number of polygons in the cube to six, . . ." Can someone clarify please? Nothing happens when I hit the minus key and I can't seem to find anything on it in the manual. Probably something right under my nose. Hehe. I'm a fairly experienced modeler in other apps and I love the book, but I can't for the life of me figure this out. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Yeah, nothing happens here either. It sounds like an Amapi thing rather than Carrara (just a guess).

For the time being I'm just doing that step with a different method. I hate to find out later that I'm overlooking important newbie stuff, though.

You are using the Vertex Modeler aren't you? Add a cube and the cursor will change to '+/-'. At this point pressing the + or - keys will increase or reduce the number of polys in the cube. Press enter when you've done.

The trick is that you can only do this while the cursor is +/-. If you accidentally hit another key you will lose the chance to modify.
