I got a tax return and ain't afraid to use it! Well, kinda afraid. Terrified, actually. I want Carrara 3D, but after visiting the web site, can't decide if I'd be better off buying the "Basic" for $99 or a side-grade "Studio" for $249. I want to model. I already have a couple of low-grade modeling programs (Anim8or and Wings3D), and do okay with box modeling... but I want to work with a more organic system such as metaballs. I'm ready for the next step in modeling software's evolution. I want to make my own characters and bone them and use them in Poser, Vue4 and whichever Carrara I end up buying. Did anyone on this forum buy the Basic? Are ya happy with it? Does it do what you expected? Would you upgrade to Studio given the chance? Any help is appreciated!
