Ok. How do you import a new template into UVMapper?????

Milamber, you don't import a template. YOu import the .obj from your geometry folder and it (UV Mapper) creates a template. Generally you will get a 'default' template which will allow you to map a texture for that .obj. If you wish to change the template, then you have to save a new .obj (with another name), edit the .cr2 so it will point to the new .obj. There are several UV Mapper tutorials in Free Stuff, I believe.

If you are on MAC OS you can't, the latest version of UVMapper for WIN can import/export uv's without the originator sending the obj, you still need the original however in order to process it.

Thanks! Downloaded the newest UVMapper, and there was the import menu option.

Well, DURN--newer one than I have. I'll have to go look for it. Thanks. Diane

Hi Folks! This is a tip for Mac users who are cr2-editing illiterate like me. After you've processed the original obj file as a new UV-Mapped object, export it and the new texture map (they will both have cumbersome names) by saving it to a temporary folder. Go to the appropriate folder in Runtime:Geometries and select the original .obj file. Copy it to a specially designated folder on your hard drive for original .obj files or a Zip Disk, etc (on OS 8.5 and above you can have files of the same name in different folders). Then drag the original file to the trash. Drag your new UV-processed .obj file to the Runtime folder. Rename it, giving it the original obj file's name. Repeat the process for the new texture if you have an original texture stored anywhere in the Runtime folder. When you import the obj. file or open its corresponding cr2 thumbnail in Poser it will now accept the new texture template/map coordinates you created in UV Mapper. At least, that's how it works for me. I've been able to create custom map templates for several items I've acquired from FreeStuff and BBay, and saved the originals to other disks. If you need more specific advice on this, send me a private post. Peter (Dr Zik)
