Charge .25 to $1.00 per image posted. This would help increase R's income, and hopefully cause artists to work harder on the images they post to the gallerys.

IMHO, that would only cause less people to post in the galleries. Although that would save space and bandwidth, it probably would not do anything good for the "community" ambiance/atmosphere; especially with other competing sites having free galleries.

That's an absurd idea. You'll lose membership (potential MP customers) and in turn revenue (or income). However start by limit upload sizes to 200K per image and 1 image per day. That way, you still maintain the status quo and cut bandwidth cost. Not to mentioned less PO'ed members.

I agree with the 2 statements above...that IS absurd...Start charging for the gallery uploading privs and your gonna lose members and money...and if you're a merchant.. ohhhh boyyy...you're not going to want to have to pay extra for uploading an image of your product too..~sheesh~ However start by limit upload sizes to 200K per image and 1 image per day. That way, you still maintain the status quo and cut bandwidth cost. Not to mentioned less PO'ed members That sounds pretty good :)

Not necessarily. Businesses generally try to paint a rosey picture right up until the bow sinks below the waves; even after all the rats have abandoned the ship.

well, I do not agree with the charge gallery on a normal basis. Lotsa folks just starting out wanting feedback and they should have free access. But maybe a premium gallery? Kinda like the poster thingie? Want in the premium gallery then pay per upload and make sure your image is good? All the hot 20 gets in the premium gallery for free?
