I am running Carrara Studio 2.1 For a while I have noticed that when an object is duplicated the original and duplicate are not the object selected but are instead the original MINUS edits made to the mesh. This problem also occurs when saving the scene and openning it up later. Example: Created a spline. Did an intersection boolean. Made duplicates of the boolean'd object. Selected the duplicate to edit mesh. I DID select the CREATE new master option. I editted the duplicate and saved the file. I closed carrara I opened the file the next day and the original and duplicate were now editted meshes. It also works in reverse, if you edit a duplicate and then duplicate that, the true orignal replaces all the duplicates. I am usually editting multiple duplicates with each having changes to the mesh.

I've noticed this problem too, but I have not had any trouble with it since I started to rename all the master objects as I make them. Carrara's very fussy about master (objects and shaders). The times I have had this problem there have been two masters with the same name, and, I presume, one gets overwritten. Howsomever, I try to avoid boolean's (though sometimes they're necessary), as they are currently not very good in Carrara, and need quite a bit of cleanup.
