Hehe, No fair Sams3D! Yours look cool though, I particularly like the compressing spring and the rope texture for the mane and tail, very nice! :o) - Baz

We have a rocking horse that looks a lot like yours, Sharen. We called him Timber. :-) Yours is looking pretty good, BazC. Might be tricky getting the feet to mount solidly on the rockers with the angles you have on the hooves. But I'm sure you'll figure it out. jon

Thanks Jon, I've had a look at some designs on the web and some of them have the rockers running through a mortice in the hooves, in which case it'll be easy! - Baz

Actually I'm more concerned about the mane, I'm not sure whether to extrude it out of the neck, which could make the topology a nightmare, or make it a seperate object, in which case I have to get it to fit the neck properly. Any thoughts anyone? - Baz

I can't decide which one to do... LOL! I might try one of those moulded plastic horses attached to springs and bolted to playgrounds. Baz before you get further along, you might want to consider making a rockin' unicorn... that might be something a couple of fairy type characters would go for. Just a suggestion. :o) Cheers! M

Perhaps you could select the polys where the main will "grow" out from and then do an Extract | Region to get a new object. Then Intrude the big underside face slightly to fix up the geomery. Extruding from that may may work. Or you can switch over to Art Of Illusion, and use the hair growing script to grow the main and tail, which I'm sure would end up looking much better. A friend of mine uses AOI scripts to do that sort of thing and they look sweet. Of course, there is a new app to learn, if you don't use it alread. :-P jon

Great idea Moe! Thanks I'll give it a go. Jon, yeah I thought extract region was the way to go and I'll probably stick with Wings. I have played briefly with AOI and didn't like it much, but I had no idea it had a hair growing capability! Thanks for the info, time to dig it out again perhaps :o) - Baz
