Sometimes when I use boolean subraction, I get some spike things happeneing on the edge of what should be a clean straight edge. does anyone know what causes this or how to prevent it? Thanks, Scott Menaul

You need to have more geometry in those areas before you do the boolean.

there are a lot of people who feel that booleans should only be used as a last resort. if you do a search you can probably find an old post by antoine clappier on the topic.
