I am trying to render a table with glass table top in Carrara 2.1 (Mac). Anyone who can advise me on how to create a good glass-shader for that purpose (transparent but with the typical green-edge refraction). The shaders provided with the software so far did not produce satisfying results. Thank you!!

The one tip I have is make sure that the table has thickness or the glass won't look much like glass and my other tips is.... I'm unclear about what/where the rectangular layer does here? -Kix

Hi Kix, It simply makes the edge darker than the bevel. Otherwise the edge is as bright as the bevel and becomes lost. Mark

Well, If you're like my folks you go for the Kinda Translucent glass. This works well on an angle, but not so straight on. I used this one for the "Coffee and Donut" Contest a while back. Try it for shower doors, too. Ken ![dork.gif](http://market.renderosity.com/~carrara/emoticons/dork.gif)

Throwing in a cellular in the refraction channel is another idea. -Kix
