ok... reinstalled the program as per your advice and the 64 bit version is working as before... though somewhat slower "figure/pro" save....
Thank you all for all your expert advice.... much appreciated.... :c))

I suspect it is to do with the OS... Figures and props savings works just fine with the 32 bit version of the program..... I will re-install it as you all have suggested, and let you know if I have success...
Thank you

BB..
The path does exist and when I reinstall the Poser pro (64 bit version) its default is "program files " subdirectory.... no overriding of exe. flies on my part....The "Add" option was working fine for a long time... up until today! Re-installation has not helped either!
Thanks anyway...

Thank you BB.... I switch off UAC, but that did not seem to have resolved the issue. Can you please provide some advice as to have to save figures/props within the program.
Thanks again for quick response...

Thread: Free stocking+leg shader | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When I place BB's shader in the apporpriate directory (materials folder) and access it from the Material menu, I don't see the same screen as BB's snapshot (of the shader).... Any suggestions?
Also, has someone created morph for V4 toes that translates them into "Footsock" (similar to V3?)
Thanks all for advice

PERFECT!!! The mistake I was making was changing the entire display to a set style... by changing the elements of PH display to say Silhouette, I am now able to see the poke through!!
Big thanks to you all for being so helpful....... :c))))

hborre,
You are absolutely correct on the fact that there is no image map associated with the pantyhose.... What is strange though, sometimes the transparency does show up when I apply the python script (for changing the PH color) that came with the product... I have tried to find the root cause of this anomolie and so far I have been unsuccessful!!
Do you think it might pay to play around the different node settings in the material room?
Thanks

Thank you all for your advice...
Just as an fyi, in the render setting, both "displacement map" and "smooth polygons" were not checked... Hence my confusion! I am also stuggling to find a way to make the pantyhose visible in preview pane... This should allow me see the areas that are poking through and make the necessary changes prior to rendering....
Further advice in making invisible items visible in the preview pane would be greatly appreciated..:c)
Also, what is "SubD".. and is there a thread that shows how to use different "smooth polygon" setting for each group... The only place I see this parameter is under "Poser Setting" for the entire scene...
Thnaks again for your support/advice...

Thanks for the heads up..... This is interesting since when I run Poser Pro (x86) or Poser Pro, I don't see significant difference between the two (duirng say moving the camera angle)....
I am using Vista 64 bit, w/ 24 GB RAM + 1 GB Video card (ATI HD 4800).
Perhaps with the shear size of my poser files (avg. 450 -500 MB) this is to be expected?

I don't beleive the program is running under 64 bit..... since this would require a major overhaul to the program code..... As far as I know it is only the render engine that runs under 64 bit engine...
I could be wrong though....

BB,
Do you see Poser Pro program running under 64 bit (in the near future) and not just the rendering engine?

I don't think we should lose sight that BB was simply suggesting a novel way of adding textures/images within the Poser.....Also, lets not forget, we are dealing with CGI, not real life.....
I would still take my hat off to BB for his skill sets and willingness to share his knowledge....
Cheers
