Thread: Pure Poser? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just went over to the Vue D'Esprit galleries. There's a lot of Poser work there. It interested me as I've just ordered Vue. The problem is-- none of the Poser work I saw was either discussed or defined, as to what model, what texture, etc. It seemed counter productive as I really wanted to know those things but I can understand they might have seemed out of place in a Vue gallery. If the rendering in Vue is better than the rendering in Poser I want to post in the Poser gallery. Seems to me if the emphasis is on the figures not the landscape, that should be all right. As for Post work, I've never been able to understand why someone wouldn't want to use whatever program made the finishing product look best. But then, I've never been a purist. And yes, I agree, all programs used should be labeled.
Thread: How do you install the Poser 4.03 update correctly? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you soooo much. I just spent a few hours earlier tonight moving things from the Curious Labs folder back into the Metacreations one, because that seems the most stable-- as well as the one DAZ products go to automatically.
Now, I have to go in and make sure all the pngs are gone. I know they are Pro Pack.
Double thanks, because now I can also question my seller as to why his characters aren't loading. I'm going to try to avoid uninstalling if I can possibly avoid it. It gets all befuddled then.
Thank you once again for the very very quick response.

I love Nerd's Backdrop! There's also a free thingey at Runtime DNA that sounds similar. Haven't used it yet.

I'm a Goil, Chuck. And I liked the long neck too-- a little too much time on the rack maybe but. . . elegant and serpent like. I'm trying my best to get a guy done-Raven. But those eyebrows won't go away, and things keep sticking out places, not Those Things, hips, abdomen, and the like. I lucked out with the first one. Men are tougher. And the hair, ugh! I like tattoos on any women but me, unless I'm sedated for the application, and piercings. Where did I put my piercing folder-- they had better be smart props, really really smart.
Thread: Trying to rescale hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You mean you don't use the x,y and z thingies? Cause, I must admit they are driving me crazy. It would help if I could find my manual.
Thread: Trying to rescale hair | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
That's what I wanted to know!!! Thank you. I was xyz trans without too much discretion and ended up with some rather odd pieces of hair. Y Trans! Yea! Yes, it usually comes in right about around his nose. I thank both of you very much. Generally, I prefer to eyeball everything myself but it's been awhile since I've tromped around in 3D and I wasn't all that conversant with it ten years ago.

Doesn't sound obvious to me, I only learned last night-- this is my fifth day working Poser, after a hiatus of years "BV", Before Vicki-- that costumes and stuff HAD parts! I managed to conform/parent my Conner Hair to the neck of a jacket. Generally, though I try-- don't always succeed-- to be methodical and select hair from the menu not on the fly. Here's a very stupid question. What camera angles do you use to size it? I've used Right and Face, I guess I should also use the Top view, huh? My main problem is getting it high enough so his bald head doesn't come through and further onto the forehead so it isn't Orc back-curls. I'll reread the manual now that I've downloaded it in Acrobat, the other one goes walk-about.
Thread: Can you take a MAT off after you've applied it? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thank you, I thought the solution might just be the Gamer's solution-- save, save, save. Some MAT's overwrite and some don't. It would be really really nice if the designers let you know. Maybe, there's no way to tell. However, now I know what I want to ask for in upgrades. Ways to take things off. I love this forum, even the dumbest questions-- like this-- get instant and polite help. Thank you again.

I signed the petition. I use DSL--business DSL because I can't get any other kind in my neighborhood. What on earth is to prevent this tiered system from jumping to DSL? It's rather insane. The last thing you want to do to a growing economic sector is reduce the number of available consumers. If I didn'thave broadband, I wouldn't surf. And since I'm disabled, I do most of my banking and shopping online. I'd hate to see my usage, it's probably astronomical. They have been trying this pay-by-the-byte as long as I can remember. The real people to get against it are Amazon and the other big mercantiles.

Great, I'll email him this evening. All of these are from freebies I culled from our free stuff and other places.

Thanks for the encouragement, but we gots a problem. Koz made the original transmap for Daz, and they own the copyright. Do you think they're gonna let me hand it out? I don't think so. Don't even know who to ask. I just got an email back from Kozaburo saying he had to have a special permission for posting the dark texture at his site-- of his own tex. Course it's not his copyright anymore.
Any ideas? I do suggest if anyone does want the fancy colors that they look into surplus software stores. Some of them still have KPT Convolver. It was fairly easy to color both the dark and the light textures. I pretty sure I have have a right to color the texture I bought for my own uses. As would anyone else. But I don't want to go up against DAZ.

The Wedge cut license-- and a long intricate machination it is--has the usual prohibitions against taking any part of the model, I would assume the texture is a part of the model, and changing it and/or distributing it in any manner. I notice they now have Koz's dark texture available on their site as a freebie, along with a grey one. I dunno, the licence sounds like maybe I'm not supposed to change the color for myself-- though I'm going to continue. It is ironic to see textures for the gel-cut on sale while I'm in this dilemma. Did I buy them, oh yeah.Coloring the blonde map is even more effective for pastels. See link.
