Thread: Newbie needs help... please | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Everyone - thank you all so much for your quick and helpful replies. I'm especially happy no one told me to 'rtfm' (because I have! ;) I deleted the clothes in question and reloaded them, and used the suggestions given and it worked. I've no idea what I did wrong - but, given the amount of time I spent fretting with it, I must have just gotten myself in a mess and overlooked something. Anyway - Thanks!
Thread: custom morphs - how to save them? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Karen, I'll take door number three for $20, please. Thank you =so much= for the speedy reply and the helpful comments and link. After looking over the hack at rbtwhiz, I think I'm going to let DAZ's program do all the tedious work. -_- Again, thanks!

So - for what its worth - I took my morphed out figure, clicked on the Figure library folder, hit the + and low and behold, it saved my morphed fig completely. Huh. @_@

Hiya - I'm not a pro by any means, and am currently having problems with trans maps myself - but! This link will take you to one of the best tutorials on transparencies I've found: http://www.wicked-womyn-lair.com/tutorials.html Hope it helps! -Todd
Thread: Transmaps on a figure woes | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Stewer said: "Is there a reason you're using a MAT file? Applying the transparency map directly would be a lot easier." Thanks for the reply - I did try using the Material Room to apply the Trans map - by creating a new node and inserting the transmap image. However, I got the same results (actually I did this first, then thought maybe I should use MATPose Edit). Is there a different way to apply the transmap? -Todd (who's brain is fried)

Stewer - Thanks for the picture - I appreciate it very much. I was doing it correct (the way you illustrate). However - 8 hours later I found out what I was doing wrong - and your post confirms it. I could laugh myself silly. I did not set the trans values to 1.0000. God, I feel so defeated! Anyway - again, much thanks for your time and effort. -Todd

Wow. Now that the initial shock has warn off (after reading this three times, checking out the comparisons twice, and searching for bytemeokay here) I am curious as to just what tipped you off that Qin used your Sirya textures? With so many products released from so many different places, my mind boggles that something like this was caught. I mean, seeing it in the compairson is damning - but when I look at Siyra on ZS3D, I don't immediately see Qin.

Corinne - Yeah, I agree. I was typing what I was thinking without 'thinking'. How could Stefania not see Siyra standing there in the Qin images. -Todd, been up 23 hours going on 24

I'm new to the Poser community, having just recently purchased a copy of P5 and having just begun to purchase packs and sets here and at DAZ. So, I'm not completely familiar with all the history here at Renderosity. However, as an artist, I've been reading this thread with interest (I dont really see this as a 'dead horse' thread, since it involves an established high-selling merchant, and as a newbie, this makes it high-profile). The fact of the matter is, a violation was committed - reasons and excuses and finger-pointing aside. Friendship, likability, and reputation should not play a part in any resolutions. The rich steal, the nice kill. Shit happens all the time that often baffels us - because the criminal 'isn't like that' or 'has a good reputation' or somesuch. I can imagine that with Poser art, reparations are pretty slim - as has been pointed out, few are making millions doing this. So what happens next? I disagree with a 'strike' system in cases like this - I mean, if I didnt create something 100%, then I know its not really mine, yet I am claiming credit and selling the license. Its wrong in my opinion, because what a prospective/established Poser-merchant really has is selling ability. Its my opinion that anyone found out to be using the work of another and passing it off as their own, should be banned from selling future products. Is SteffyZ going to be reimbursed for the damages? I doubt it. So in the interest of setting presidence I think that unless damages are repaid, the only logical course would be to ban the offender. Regardless of the history and skill and friendliness of the criminal, the bottom-line is some form of justice. SteffyZ was wronged and ByteMeOkay wronged her. -Todd, a newbie whose opinion is his own - 100%

Blackhearted said: "the merchant in this scenario is either incredibly stupid - as the likelihood of finding a texture of that calibre on the internet as freely resellable is about the same as that of winning the lottery. or the merchant thinks that everyone else is incredibly naive and stupid to believe such a story. either way, it reflects on the merchant - and it still remains that merchants responsibility and noone elses." While I'm not completely sure, I'd wager that the reason this excuse is used is because it works. What was done to said merchant? If all I have to do is say, "I'm not to blame, so-and-so said it was okay..." and I can walk away penality free - what's to stop me? -Todd, thinking out loud.
Thread: The Tailor Tutorials? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Seems the Tailor is short on tutorials. One of the reasons I
haven't purchased it yet - I'm not convinced it can do what it
proposes. But, a good solid tut might change my mind >_
