Angela, I have written to e-on twice, and I have to write again. I tell them that there is a problem rendering transparencies using the network render program (Render Cow). They respond by asking me to try this or that, which of course, I have already done. I work days like most people, and you have to wait till the following day to get an answer. I'm getting very frustrated. If and when I get a satisfactory response or some acknowledgement that a patch is forthcoming, I will post a response in this forum. If all you wish to do is import a Poser pz3 file into Vue using Mover 4, whether it be still or animation, it will render correctly on one computer, but not on a network. Maybe I'll get a satisfactory response tomorrow? Kirwyn

I suggest www.3dpmr.com. membership is free, and here you find Steena, a very well done character whose texture can also be applied to Vicki 2. The site is somewhat difficult to navigate, but once you find her, I think you will be very pleased. Steena is free to download.

Guitta, Unfortunately, I have to write and let you know that using the prescribed method that you suggested did not change anything. Transparencies are still not rendered in the JPG format. I will await a response from e-on software, but something tells me that I paid for something that does not do as advertised.

Guitta, thanks for your quick reply. I have a desktop running XP Pro, 3 Gig Pent 4, 1.5 GB Ram. Another desktop running WinME, 1.4 Gig Pent 4, 640 MB Ram. And a laptop running XP Pro, 1.6 Gig Pent 4, 512 MB Ram. You say to render with RenderCow and choose an image by image render in 100% JPG format. Where is this category located in Vue? Its purpose is to speed up rendering time by utilizing the power of multiple computers.

I wish I could give you some advice, but I believe the problem is not so much your computer as it is a poorly written program. Here's hoping they fix it.

My two cents worth: Poser 5 can do well in producing a static picture, but animation with the raytrace renderer is a lost cause. With a very potent system, you may get 200 frames before lock-up....and there is no retrieval of rendered frames. It was a lesson learned, and that is never, never buy untested software. I've heard that a new patch is on its way, so I can only wait and hope that they will address this problem.

Running Xp Pro, Pent4, 1500 ram. Even With this power, Poser 5 refuses to finish an animation render. Yes, I can get more frames than you, but I am still in the same boat, and from what info I have seen, so is everyone else. Poser 5 has been a total waste of money and time. And if it gets stuck at frame l0 or whatever, it doesn't just get stuck. No, it freezes! So there is no frame retrieval. Lesson learned, never again will I buy unproven software. So if you like still-lifes, it might prove to be sufficient, but animation? Forget it. Sorry I couldn,t help, and sorry for ranting.
